Worlds Training at Inner City Strife
Low water on the Ottawa has been making it difficult to train for worlds forcing competitors to go elsewhere to prepare themselves for Bus Eater. The most popular destinations have been Chambly in Montreal and Inner City Strife on the Black in New York.

Inner City has been the ideal training spot for Bus Eater
No snow melt and very little rain to bring the river up to it’s usual high levels has brought some of the lowest water to date to the Ottawa this spring. So far the lead up to worlds has been a bit of a gong show. Team captains have been meeting nightly to go over back up plans in case the water is too low to hold the competition on Bus Eater. Possible back up locations have included Waikiki wave, a medium sized wave that is extremely difficult to stick anything either than blunts on and Lower No-name’s Big Smoothy which has also been running at far from perfect levels.

Squeaky clean
It’s looking like there will be a dam release large enough to bring Bus Eater in for four days. The first day will be scheduled team training and the next three days will be the competition. Until then enjoy the photo’s from Inner City Strife and check back for my worlds report at the end of the week.
