West Virginia no more, back to the Ice Box

I’m back in Nova Scotia and it’s a little sad to be here. I’ve never spent two months anywhere and wanted to stay longer but I proved to myself that it can be done. Just as it started to warm up, like shorts and t-shirt weather, I had to go back to the ice box formerly known as Canada.

My last week in West Virginia was pretty sweet. The levels were mid range and there was tons of great play as usual. Surprise wave was in and what a surprise indeed. This wave is just as good as the put-in waves at the dries if not better, steep bouncy and a nice pile to catch you. I had a great time there working on Flash Backs and just preparing myself for Worlds in general.

As the New dropped a bit I got a few runs at 10 000cfs, what Bryan Kirk calls the Epicocity. He also claims that, it is his word and that the EP guys stole it from him, crazy little man! Anyway just below 10g’s Kirk and I stumbled upon the best Phoenix Monkey hole on earth. (not telling where it is, secret J ) All you had to do was stick your blade in, pull until you were forwards again and wait for some huge pop! Works every time!

I left just before it decided to rain a bunch, I had to get up at 3am to catch my flight, the lady at the ticket counter charged me an extra $85 to take one of my bags and there is zero water in Nova Scotia right now. Something tells me I should of stayed in WV.

Suplies…inside joke sorry!

We’re supposed to get some rain over the next few days so hopefully it’ll be enough to get some creeking action in here before heading to Montreal, then the Ottawa for Worlds. Again special thanks to Bryan Kirk and Todd Barker for taking some amazing photo’s of me during this whole trip. Glad you guys were there to capture it on film! Check back for more updates soon!
