Wave Sport College Tour
So I get to West Virginia just as one of the coldest weeks in history is arriving. There’s a foot of snow on the ground and everyone is telling me that it’s the coldest it’s been in over a decade, woo hoo, wicked timing on my part. It actually ended up working out pretty well as Wave Sports college tour was scheduled for most of the cold snap.

Basically the college tour is designed so that people can try out any or all of Wave Sports boats and the team can help them out with flat water technique etc. It also gives students the chance to try out paddling for their first time and take a clinic with some of team Wave Sport’s finest in the pool.

Alright down to the nitty gritty. So on the way to our first stop some one had a little van voodoo doll and was poking the crap out of it. First we lost one of the boats (it was kind of funny actually). We heard bang then looked out the back window and Ben Guska’s bran new Habitat was flying across the interstate. It actually worked out pretty well, it landed hull first, planned and did a bunch of clean spins. Next we were passing a tractor trailer and almost smoked a box liner that was laying in the middle of the road like a chameleon, blending with shadow the truck was casting. Then we almost hit a road sign that was again, in the middle of the road. I can in vision a little man with his dinky mat set up, chucking stuff at a little Wave Sport van and laughing like a mad man. Anyway voodoo man must have bad aim cause we made it there in one piece; he got creative on the way back however. Poor little Guska, the voodoo man made a Guska doll and strung him into putting gas in our diesel van. Long story short voodoo man one, Team Wave Sport zero.

The rest of the tour went smoother. We set up base camp in Dayton, Ohio at White Water Warehouse and did day trips from there to most of the pools we needed to hit up. Special thanks to Bernie and Jeryl for giving us a place to stay and putting up with us for close to a week! These guys own one of the coolest shops that I’ve ever been to and are some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. Check them out at www.kayakdayton.com
The snow is gone and the Water is high in West Virginia so check back for some cool video and photo’s in the next week or so.
