North Nashwaaksis Stream (Fredericton)

If you are looking for a park and huck with a little walk, this is it! Located just outside of Fredericton, this offers some nice scenery with a couple of slides and a 20 footer.

The ride begins after a 10 minute walk to the put in (you park at the take out). Go through some quick moving water until you see your first horizon line. This is a shallow slide which can be run anywhere. Next you see a smaller slide with a foot bridge or 4 wheeler bridge crossing the stream. Eddy out and take out on the left to take a look at what is to come.

What you see is a river wide slide that first bears left and then 90 degrees right. After turning back right the river slides for another vertical 10 feet before plunging over a vertical 15-20 footer. On river left above the vertical drop is and eddy you can catch if you are a professional (Burley). You can have an easier look at the falls here with making it a class 5 scout on gorgey banks.

Take out is just below the falls on a set of stairs leading up to a residence. They don’t mind you using the stairs but they like for you to ask before using them. They are also quick to point out that they are not giving permission for you to paddle the falls. Legality!

Have fun! This is a great spot for first drops.
