North American Tour#10- The Trip Home, Tour Wrap Up
The trip home was long! There’s a reason that they say book your plane tickets well in advance and I found out why. After a “quick” one day drive we arrived at Casa Esprit, Mexican base camp for the Canadian Rafting company Esprit. The folks there were nice enough to let us stay in their loft and gave us free reign on their facilities…all three of us rushed to the showers. Read more

We drove for more than five days before we made it to Salina Cruz, home of the Rio Zimatam and Rio Copalita. The drive isn’t all that far it’s just driving in Mexico is slow for two reasons. One: their solution to speeding is to put random speed bumps (Topes) everywhere and Two: the roads go through the mountains where your constantly stuck behind a truck or slamming on the brakes because there’s a heard of cows in the middle of the road or half the road has eroded leaving a precipice in front of you.
